Me outside my home for the next 4 months
So here’s the classic London Center picture. Just had to do it :)
We checked out the ancient walls that follow through areas of London. We followed a trail of old, crumbly walls built by the Romans from ancient times. The pieces of wall that we found were huge, thick walls about a story and a half high, and I’d say around 5 or 6 feet deep. The stones were big and small, and a range of colors. Some parts of the wall were longer than others, some included bits of a ceiling, some had stairs. Whenever I’d see a piece of the wall I’d stop and just watch people causally walking to work pass by it and wonder if they realize how lucky they are to pass by a bit of ancient Rome every single day.
Christ's Church
Just peeking out of Christ’s Church- one of the only surviving buildings from the Great Fire of London in 1666.

Part of an old Roman wall
A piece of the old Roman wall just chilling in the middle of a modern city. Kinda a weird phenomenon of the old being right in the center of the new.

Later we found our way to the Museum of London. I am definitely going back there to explore it some more. The museum is filled with ancient artifacts, bones, materials, and finds from ancient times. Each section of the museum was dedicated to exploring different time periods of history and recreating what life would have been like back then. We didn’t have time to explore the more modern eras of the museum, because I had dish duty- a terrible form of modern-day torture.

Oh, and we saw an absolutely terrible play- "Reasons to be Pretty." Seriously, it was horribl, filled with nasty dirty language and jokes, and it basically reminded me of an uncensored soap opera. But the one redeeming factor about it was that of the four actors in the play, one of them was...... Billie Piper, aka ROSE TYLER from Doctor Who!!!! It was the coolest thing ever!! I tried to tell the other students how lucky we were and how honored we should be to be in her presence. But none of them really grasped the magnitude of her celebrity and how big Doctor Who is here. Alas, only one or two other girls could appreciate Rose Tyler with me and we basked in her glory.
Rose Tyler!!!  She was a creepy pregnant security cop in this play though...
